Tycho Peninsula, formerly Tycho Island, is a rocky outcrop running West-to-East from Extropia's mainland; the backbone of Extropia Core. The landmass has stark geographical features, rising up at a hilly head before sinking back down to form an underwater reef. Tycho supports two distinct micro-climates: a cool climate on its exposed and rocky Southern face (at Core Bay), with soft sands and gentle winds to the North (at Tycho Beach).

Tycho Peninsula is named after the rayed crater of Luna, a former battle site and landmark in many science fiction stories.

Tycho Beach

The beach is the most-frequented part of the peninsula, and lies across the sim border beteen Extropia Core and Extropia. At the foot of the hill lies Tycho Boardwalk, a small terrace of shops and offices which overlook the beach itself. Here is where the nation's fishing contests are held. The boardwalk here also provides passage between Tycho Plaza and Extropia Downtown.

Tycho Plaza

As the peninsula plateaus just below the water's surface, Extropia Core makes its artificial lands most evident. The plaza here is part of a man-made extension of the peninsula, open to commercial tenants. The plaza is watched over by the Secret Goldfish cinema and is accessed via footpaths from the Central Nexus, Tycho Beach, Neovenice and Kepler.

Core Bay

Core Bay makes up the majority of Extropia Core, and is a calm mass of water formed by the peninsula to the North. The bay was quickly populated by floating habitat plates, which now form the islands of Kepler, Hubble, Orion and Floating Point. The bay's sea bed also anchors the free-standing Central Nexus.
